The Arab Petroleum Services Company (A P S C O )
It is an affiliation of the organisation of Arab Petroleum exporting countries (O A P E C ).
The organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting countries (O A P E C ) was established by an agreement signed in Beirut, Lebanon on January 9, 1968 between the governments of each of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Libya. The agreement stated that the organisation will be headquartered in Kuwait.
The Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Algeria Joined the organisation in 1970 and Egypt, Syria and Iraq joined in 1972.
The Agreement stated that other Arab Petroleum Exporting countries may be members of the organisation on the condition that Petroleum is an important source of its National Income.
The organization (OAPEC) established projects in various aspects of Economic activity in the Oil industry in the form of special international agreements between the Governments of member states of OAPEC wishing to invest in Oil sector
The following agreements were signed between the member countries:-
- Establishment Agreement of the Arab Petroleum marine transportation company (1972)
- Establishment agreement of the Arab ship building and maintenance company (1973)
- Establishment Agreement of the Arab Petroleum Investment company (1974)
- Establishment agreement of the Arab Petroleum Services Company (1975)
